Work Light

A work light is a portable luminaire that puts task-level illumination exactly where work happens — a category spanning tripod floodlights, hand lamps, magnetic and clamp lights, and rechargeable area lights. It is the finest-grained layer of site lighting, filling in where towers and strings cannot reach.

Seguridad y operación

Use only certified hazardous-location fixtures in classified areas; an ordinary work light is an ignition source there.

What makes a work light suitable for hazardous locations?

Certification of the complete fixture for the specific class, division or zone, and group of atmosphere present — the enclosure keeps surface temperatures and internal sparks from igniting the surrounding gas, vapor, or dust. The marking on the fixture must match the area classification.

Are cordless work lights bright enough for real work?

Current LED cordless lights cover most task and small-area needs, and many share batteries with tool platforms. Corded or generator-fed floods still win for lighting whole rooms through a full shift without battery swaps.

Why do droplights use low voltage in tanks and vessels?

Inside conductive enclosures, contact with energized parts is far more dangerous, so practice and many specifications call for reduced-voltage lighting or GFCI-protected isolated supplies to cut shock energy in those spaces.
