How it works

A fish tape threads the empty conduit and hauls back a pull rope; the puller then draws the conductor bundle through, its capstan multiplying force well beyond hand strength while staying under the cable's rated pulling tension. Crimpers finish the run, compressing connectors with calibrated dies into gas-tight terminations.

When calculated tension exceeds what hands sustain — long runs, multiple bends, and large conductor. Exceeding a cable's rated pulling tension damages insulation invisibly, which is what the calculation prevents.
Why are crimp dies specific to connector and wire size?
The crimp geometry is engineered per pairing — the wrong die under- or over-compresses, producing a joint that heats under load. Die index marks embossed on the finished crimp are the inspection record.
What does cable lubricant actually do?
