Ladders

Ladders provide the most basic vertical access on any site. Step ladders are the largest class in the catalog, with extension, multi-purpose, and trestle types plus ladder jack systems.

Cómo funciona

A ladder transfers the climber's weight to ground or structure: step ladders through spread legs, extension ladders through base and wall bearing at the proper 4:1 angle. Duty ratings (Type III through IAA, 200-375 lb) state total supported load, and fiberglass rails are the electrical-work default because aluminum conducts.

Tipos y variantes

Step Ladder
Self-supporting A-shape ladder for work at low heights.
Extension Ladder
Two-section leaning ladder that extends to reach upper levels.
Multi-Purpose Ladder
Hinged ladder that converts between step, extension, and scaffold configurations.
Trestle / A-Frame Ladder
Double-front ladder built to support planks or two climbers.
Ladder Jack Set
Brackets that hang a work plank between two ladders.

Cómo elegir

Height and task set the type: step ladders for self-supported work to about 12 ft standing height, extension ladders for building access with 3 ft above the landing, multi-purpose units where one ladder must do several jobs. Duty rating covers worker plus tools, and rail material follows electrical exposure.

Preguntas frecuentes

How is ladder height selected?
For step ladders, roughly 4 ft above the highest standing level needed (the top two steps are off-limits); for extension ladders, the landing height plus 3 ft of extension above it at the 4:1 lean angle.
What do ladder duty ratings mean?
Total load — climber plus tools and materials — from Type III at 200 lb to Type IAA at 375 lb. Construction work belongs on Type I and up; the rating label is on every rail.
Why fiberglass rails on job sites?
Electricity. Fiberglass does not conduct, and since incidental contact with energized lines and equipment is a leading ladder killer, fiberglass is the default anywhere electrical exposure exists.
