Concrete Grinding and Polishing
Concrete surface prep machines grind, blast, and polish floors for coatings and finished concrete. Single-head grinders are the most numerous class, alongside planetary grinders, shot blasters, burnishers, and the dust collectors that make indoor work compliant.
How it works
Grinders rub diamond segments across the floor, stepping through grits from coarse cutting to fine refinement; planetary heads orbit for flatness on large slabs. Shot blasters hurl steel shot at the surface and recover it magnetically, leaving an anchor profile coatings bond to. Every dry process ties to a dust collector, since concrete dust is a silica exposure.

How to choose
The specified surface profile (CSP) drives the method: light profiles for thin coatings come from grinding, coarser anchor profiles for overlays from shot blasting. Machine width scales with floor area; planetary grinders are the path to polished concrete. A properly sized HEPA collector is not optional equipment — it is what keeps the work inside exposure limits.
